Pre-Existing Medical Cover (First Medical Assistance) Covers actual medical expenses and hospitalization due to pre-existing conditions.
Prescription Assistance Provides assistance with prescription medicine replacement requests if needed while traveling, consulting with the treating physician when legally allowed (note: medicine cost is not covered).

  2. Illnesses or pathological states caused by the voluntary consumption of alcohol, drugs, toxic substances, narcotics, or medicines acquired without medical prescription, as well as any kind of mental illness or mental imbalance
  3. Extraordinary natural phenomena such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, etc.
  4. Events arising from terrorism, mutiny, or crowd disturbances
  5. Injuries resulting from competitions, sports & training tests
  6. Wars with or without prior declaration, and any conflicts or international interventions using force or duress (e.g., Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc.)

    FAMILY PACKAGE CONDITION
    • Family Package consists of a maximum of 5 Family members with at least 1 adult and 1 minor
    • Age eligibility for children is from 4 weeks up to 17 years old
    MAXIMUM DAYS OF COVERAGE ALLOWED
    • For two-way continuous leisure/business Trips – Individual and Family Plan covers up to a maximum of one hundred eighty (180) days only
    • For two-way Annual Multi Trip – Individual and Family Plan is covered up to a maximum of one hundred eighty (180) days only
    • For Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) one-way Trip to comply with the Travel Requirements of the country of work destination and coverage is up to a maximum of twenty-one (21) days only
    • For Non-OFW one-way Trip, the coverage is only up to twenty-four (24) hours upon reaching immigration of the country of destination

  4. Is there an age limit for people to avail of travel insurance?
    • Coverage is available for individuals from 18 up to 80 years old. A premium surcharge applies for those aged 76 and above.
  5. When will I need annual travel insurance?
    • Available for frequent travelers with unlimited trips, each not exceeding 180 consecutive days.

  9. Does the insurance cover one-way trips?
    • Generally, no. However, there are exceptions. Please see terms and conditions for these.
  10. What is the Home Country?
    • The country where the insured primarily resides or holds citizenship.
  11. When does travel insurance become effective?
    • It becomes effective once the premium is paid and travel has commenced.
  12. Does travel insurance apply for extended stays abroad?
    • Yes, provided there is an intention to return to the Home Country and declared the extension to FPG Insurance.
  13. What happens if I don't return to my Home Country?
    • Coverage may become invalid if there is no intention to return.

Medical Coverage FAQs

  1. Does the travel insurance cover medical consultations after I return from my trip?
    • No, coverage is limited to medical expenses incurred during the trip.
  2. Are there circumstances where post-travel medical care is covered?
    • No, only treatments during the trip are covered.
  3. What if I experience complications related to an illness or injury from my trip?
    • Those complications will not be covered; regular health insurance may be needed.
  4. Does the policy cover follow-up treatments for injuries after returning home?

Pre-existing Conditions

  1. Does the policy cover pre-existing medical conditions?
    • Initial emergency treatment related to a pre-existing condition may be covered, but ongoing or additional treatments will not be.
  2. What happens if the emergency assistance relates to a pre-existing condition?
    • Initial assistance is provided for emergencies, but extended or follow-up services related to the condition are not covered.
  3. Will I be covered for follow-up treatments if it relates to a pre-existing condition?
    • No, once a condition is diagnosed as pre-existing, follow-up treatments are not covered.
  4. What qualifies as a pre-existing condition under the policy?
    • Any medical condition that existed prior to the policy’s start date, whether known or unknown.
  5. Does the policy cover outpatient treatments for pre-existing conditions?
    • Initial emergency outpatient treatments may be covered, but further treatment is excluded.
  6. Are ambulance costs covered for emergencies related to pre-existing conditions?
    • Yes, initial ambulance costs are covered for emergencies related to pre-existing conditions, but additional related expenses are not.

Coverage Limitations

  1. Will FPG cover losses if I have other insurance?
    • No, losses already covered by other insurance will not be compensated.
  2. What if I receive a refund from a hotel or airline?
    • FPG will not cover losses already refunded.
  3. Are there any exceptions to this rule?
    • Generally, no exceptions apply.
  4. How can I know if my loss is covered by another policy?
    • It’s your responsibility to check existing policies for coverage.
  5. What should I do if I’m not sure whether I have other coverage?
    • Review your policy details or contact your insurance provider for clarification.
  6. Does this apply to all types of losses?
    • Yes, this policy applies to all types of losses covered by other insurance.
  7. How do I file a claim if I am covered by other insurance?
    • File your claim with that insurance provider first, then discuss any remaining losses with FPG.

Baggage Delays and Losses

  1. What happens if I don’t report a delay or loss immediately?
    • Benefits may be denied if not reported promptly.
  2. Is there a time limit for purchasing clothing or toiletries due to a delay?
    • Yes, purchases must be made within forty-eight (48) hours of arrival.
  3. Will I be covered if my baggage is delayed on my return journey?
    • No, benefits will not be provided for baggage delays during the return journey.
  4. Can I claim for purchases made after receiving my baggage?
    • No, purchases after receiving baggage are not eligible for reimbursement.
  5. What should I do if my baggage is delayed?
    • Report the delay immediately and keep all relevant documentation to assist you with your claim like:
      1. original Property Irregularity Report (PIR) from airline
      2. original receipts of basic necessity purchased due to delay of baggage
      3. original acknowledgement receipt stating the exact date and time when you received your baggage from the airline
  6. Are there exceptions to these rules?
    • No exceptions; benefits may be denied under specified conditions.
  7. How can I ensure my claim is processed successfully?
    • Promptly report delays, make eligible purchases, and keep all receipts.
  8. What if I didn't know about the delay immediately?
    • Report the delay as soon as possible to avoid denial of benefits.
  9. What if my luggage is permanently lost?
    • Payments for luggage delay will be deducted from the total claim for lost luggage.
  10. Can I claim for both delayed luggage expenses and lost luggage?
    • Yes, but any compensation for delayed luggage will be deducted from the lost luggage claim.

Cancellations and Refunds

  1. Am I allowed to cancel my policy and request for refund cause my Visa was denied?
    • Policy cancellation is permitted with proof of visa denial, and premiums are refunded minus government taxes.
